New Interview from Mat Sinner- June 17th, 2002

MAT SINNER ABOUT THE FUTURE OF SINNER
another exclusive interview for Final Sin

1. Sinner has been "put on hold" for the past 2 years. Why a new album now??

The time is right to write some stuff with Tom again, I have some great songs which are 100% sinner and not primal fear and I've written some crushing stuff with henny wolter for sinner. the original drummer fritz randow - who's now a member of british metal legends of "saxon" now for years, is back in the line up and the entire thing seems to shape up and makes sense and of course could be something very special.

2. What is Sinner for you now, compared with 2000?

Tom and Fritz. "End of sanctuary" was like a classic solo album. to work with tom again makes a lot of sense. he's my friend and it's time to write some songs together and let it rock again. with this line up we recoded the comeback album of sinner "bottom line" which was our big step back from mainstream to metal.

3. Will there be a fifth member of the band, or just you, tom, fritz and frank??

It will be Henny Wolter. Henny was a part of the "end of sanctuary" album and touring band and henny recorded "bottom line" with sinner. playingwise he and tom will rock the house. two excellent riffmasters. les paul schooled rockers. i'm really looking forward to this combination again.

4. Are you planning to tour with Sinner??

Of course we will playing live shows. I really don't know how much it will be - depends on the offers, cause this band needs enough space on stage and enough time. first the recordings, then the negotiations, thzen the release and then the shows. we will see. there are sure some open air festivals who actually showed their interest and maybe some shows together with Primal Fear in the future. a lot of fans asked me about the show in Tokyo and maybe we set up something for Europe like this!

5. How many songs do you have ready and what are they like??

About 15 and a classic cover version. everything is included of sinner's past and sinner's future - fast and heavy tunes and still some mid-tempo stuff, some more commercial stuff. the whole lotta range of metal.

6.Did the time with primal Fear influenced you as a musician??

Of course. playing in a band is a permanent learning process, but i really focused now in songs, which don't sound like Primal Fear. just rockers which are 100% Sinner.

7. do you plan to go on with PF and Sinner at the same time from now on??

Primal Fear has priority 100% - Sinner will be there forever and if I have great serious guys around me like this time, there will be always space for some good music!

8. a word for the Sinner fans...

ok, I'm really looking forward to record and to release the new album and as far as I can see it now, we won't disappoint the sinner fans, there will be a lot of great songs coming up, recorded by a great band without business pressure - just music! Mat Sinner June 2002
