A new interview with Mat Sinner about the new album.......
and then some....August 10, 2002

1. You seem to be very enthusiastic about it, so what is the new album like?

the new album was fun to record, the spirit was there - the music is heavy based on very strong riffs, maybe the strongest riffs we ever composed and upon these riffs recorded some of the most talented and energetic rockers from Europe. so the final result makes us all surprised and very happy!

2. How does it feel to be back with Tom and Fritz?

It really shows to me and will later show to the public what a team here rocks. These guys can play their shit and in addition with a gunslinger like Henny, here was a force at work, that is impossible to stop. Tom and Fritz are more than musicians, they're both my friends and if the chemistry is right - we're strong - very strong!

3. How are the songs? The titles seem very aggressive

They are 100% Sinner in the vein of Devil's River or Signed, Sealed & Delivered - very heavy riffs, powerfull grooves but always with the traditional Sinner melodies. Of course a very heavy and powerful output and there's always a red line between the lyrics and the music!

4. Has PF's success in the past 2 years put an amprent on you as a musician and is this present on the new album?

No not yet and not on this album. This here was something like a re-birth of one of the strongest teams and you will hear this, the longer the recordings went, the more we know that we've done something right here and we recorded and mixed in a very short time!

5. Will Sinner be a constant presence on the metal scene from now on, or you might have to put it aside for a while again?

Whatever the future brings. It depends on the schedule of Primal Fear and it depends on the motivation of Tom & Fritz. We will see. If the reaction of the public will be killer, we have to play shows and some of the next years festival. Primal Fear is already booked for some, so it would be a heavy schedule for me, but anyway...

6.You have announced a cover of a Metallica song for a NB tribute album. How did that come out?

Very very heavy and groovy. Better than we first expect, cause as we recorded the track we really recognised how difficult their arrangements are, but anyway we finally did it in a cool way. It's "Wherever I May Roam" and will appear on a NB tribute sampler released in november!

7.A final word for the Sinner fans

It's always difficult to talk about music without listening to the stuff, but we promise you another cool record - some who already heared it told us, that this is our strongest album in ages - hope you hear the stuff soon and we see us on tour with PF or next year maybe with Sinner!
